Maria Huber

Born in 1995, Maria Huber has been studying and producing at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Gießen, Germany, since 2015. From 2013 to 2014 she was a dramaturgy assistant at Badisches Staatstheater Kalsruhe. Starting in the autumn of 2019 she also began studying for her master´s degree in comparative dramaturgy at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. From 2017 to 2018 she studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) in the master degree program for “devised and object theater.“ From 2018 to 2019 she had a scholarship from the Deutsch-Tschechische Zukunftsfonds und Dozierende (DTZF) in the German-Czech exchange project “How does tomorrow smell?“. She currently works for the most part as a freelance dramaturge for new music theater and contemporary performances, as a theater teacher, and in artistic-technical fields as a lighting and audio designer. She works together with Jakob Boeckh and Ole Hübner in an emerging music theater collective, which is dedicated to exploring forms of radically discursive, democratic, and non-hierarchal work development and co-authorship in new music theater.
